FFL Transfers

New to FFL Transfers?

We are a licensed dealer and Manufacturer. Port Firearms also facilitates transfers for firearm purchases made online from out-of-state stores (I.E. GunBroker), or other out-of-state origins such as Private Party Transfers. Firearms cannot be shipped directly to you or your home. They must be shipped to an FFL Licensee. If you are new to purchasing a firearm and having it shipped to Port Firearms, here is how it works:

“FFL” – Federal Firearms License
  • Notify us via email that you intend to use us as your FFL transfer location. We need your email for scheduling and a description of the firearm you are purchasing.
  • Purchase your firearm online, from your out-of-state gun shop, online seller/auction site, or from anyone else where a transfer is required by law.
  • Your dealer or the sellers dealer, will ask for a copy of our FFL. To exchange the appropriate information, your dealer/seller can email us at FFL@portfirearms.com. Some online stores or auction sites will already have our FFL which make it even simpler.
  • Provide us with a tracking number as soon as you receive one. We need to know when the firearm is coming so can ensure someone is at our facility to receive the firearm.
  • Once we receive your firearm and log it in, we will send an email to create an appointment. This appointment is to fill out your 4473 Paperwork and to preform a background check in person at our facility.
  • Pay the transfer fee in-store.
  • If the background check is approved and the required waiting period has passed from the date of purchase, you can pick up your firearm! An additional appointment may be required if a 72hr waiting period is applicable.

All transfers requires an appointment! Same day appointments are typically not available.
